Certain sights and scents have a way of stirring memories, even those tied to sorrow. The day my mother passed was perhaps the saddest of my life. Yet, as I stepped out of the nursing home that April morning, I was met with a cascade of pink petals drifting from cherry trees, shaken loose by a gentle spring breeze. In that moment, gazing up at the blossoms dancing against a brilliant blue sky, I felt an unexpected sense of peace and reassurance. Life ends—it’s the natural order—but love endures beyond it. Now, whenever I see blossom, I am reminded of that moment.

I love painting abstracts because I never know where they will take me. My Valencia Blossom collection is a tribute to a mother’s love—timeless, ever-present, and unbreakable.
